Giraffes in Edinburgh

A group of 2 (metal!) giraffes can be found on the side of the roundabout by John Lewis leading into Leith walk! This is a detail from one of the faces. They also have an engraving into the pavement at their feet. It reads:

Giraffes! a people
who live between earth and skies
each in his own religious steeple
keeping lighthouse with his eyes.
