world aids day
yesterday it seemed that the whole of the uk was talking about the strikes. people took to the streets and the tweets to campaign against the injustice of the public sector pension scam.
today it is world aids day and the streets and the tweets were somewhat quieter.
i'm not against the strikes. i think it's wonderful that people in this country have the right to stand up against what they believe to be wrong. but if your pension is the only thing that makes you stand up and fight then something is wrong.
what about those without a voice? those who were born with a virus that they had no say in. those who will lose both of their parents, their aunties, their uncles, their brothers, their sisters? those who will live alone, wthout the hope of an education, a career, a home or a pension.
who was striking today? who was marching against the injustice of the HIV/AIDS pandemic today? who was getting angry at injustice today?
we can do something. we can get angry. we can use our voices to stand up for those with no voice. we can become involved in one of the many charities that support people living with HIV/AIDS in this country and overseas.
do something today!
