Long-eared owl

This has been my favourite lamp my whole life. It was given to my late father on his 21st birthday and was my bedside lamp when I was a boy. Now, nearly seventy years after I assume it was made, it is still in wonderful working condition without a scratch on it. It has had a replacement shade made, copied from the original.

Long-eared owls harbour a great secret beneath those sticky out ears of theirs. I will tell you if you promise not to tell anyone else.

They are not it's ears.
