on the first day of Christmas......

As I drove home this evening, I came through the adjacent village to us to find an old friend out celebrating the first day of Christmas. Meet Abdul the Chritmas camel (and Santa in the back ground). Most of Balleydehob appeared to have turned out and there were a lot of very excited children whizzing around. They were flying around so fast that they're not visable in the photo!

Abdul is about 10 years old and has toured around many a festival, meeting folks and making people smile. He's usually to be found with an alluring young belly dancer leading him (and egging him on). Bit chilly for all that tonight.

The sky is a deep dark inky blue with millions of stars out. One of the very many delights that keep me enthralled about living West Cork.
