Chaos and Calm

If the shoe fits, wear it.

My girlie side came out again today.

I decided that I should wear a dress to a gig tomorrow night that I'm doing photos for. The guys are friends of mine, and I don't think they've seen me in anything other than jeans of some description, either a black shirt or black hoodie, and a pair of cons... They have only seen the tomboy me, who dresses for comfort and practicality.
It's their last show of the year, so I thought, "sod it, I'll wear a dress". I found a GORGEOUS dress that I fell in love with instantly, and another dress that I quite liked. Tried them on. Master Four Year Old was in tow, making him my personal fashion critic. The dress of instant love looked amazing on. Even with my 'busy mum' hair and tired face, I felt amazing in it. Master Four Year Old's face lit up, his jaw dropped, and a delighted "oooohhhh, Mummy!!! You look SO beautiful!!!" came out.
Tried on the other dress. It was one of those dresses that looks great on the coat-hanger... Not so much on the body. At least not mine. Master Four Year Old shrugged, and told me to put the other one back on because he liked it so much.
Got a cute little crochet cardi to go with it.

Got home. Realised I don't actually have ANY shoes that go with the dress... And I have a LOT of shoes. So, three cheers for late-night-shopping, I went out and found these two pairs. Both discounted... The only shoes in my size that I actually liked.
So, I'm set for tomorrow night. I have my sensible and cute little flats for getting there and home again, and the insanely sexy sky-scraper heels for looking mega femme and lovely while I'm there. HAHA.

The boys won't recognise me.
