Looking out across Lyme Bay towards the Chesil Bank and Fleet Nature Reserve... oh and PORTLAND harbour- which has suddenly been re-named Weymouth and Portland harbour due to the Olympic sailing events which are being held here in 2012.
Hallelujah.
Im a bit sick of all the 'progress' aimed at the Olympics in our area now, it seems to be an excuse to allow all sorts of expensive and totally unnecessary hairbrained schemes through planning -a whole new housing estate,poky houses built on the only flat area in the 'Underhill' area of Portland,which wont be available to buy or rent until its been used as the Olympic village; removing all the roundabouts and installing intelligent lights with one of the new junctions being a badly planned death trap in the making; the words 'Olympic Views' being plastered anywhere with a glimpse of the Harbour no matter how miniscule. Im sure some of the changes will end up being a marvel, but to be honest im just a bit worried we will be left with nothing much more than a huge debt to pay off :0/
