It is Friday and it's Geni!

Last night at Burgundy's I knew it was going to be Geni Lamb, the awesome saxophonist from Liverpool and with the brilliant red hair - so I was really inspired and looking forward to painting her. At best I get mesmerised by the beautiful red hair and the challenge of painting it, but last night she was just too far away and I just could not realise my aspiration.
However, the sketch above is one I did of her earlier this year at her Liverpool Parrajazz club. I had decided I would frame a print and give it to her. Not knowing to me her father, who was at the Liverpool club when I did the sketch, had said to Geni that he was interested in acquiring this sketch - what an incredible coincidence - or were there other forces at work to make this happen! You have to imagine the red colour, but I have always liked this sketch as a pencil drawing.
