Straw-tastic

Today is National Day here in the UAE - which not only celebrates independence from the UK but also the union of all 7 Emirates (well, 6 at first, then Ras Al Kaimah jumped on the band wagon a short while after!). Apparently Bahrain and Qatar were also invited, but they said no.

It's the UAE's 40th National Day this year, so it's a big celebration. There's flags galore and the custom appears to be to pimp up your car in the national colours and cover it in livery that totally obscures your vision. I guess Allah looks after those drivers today.

So, to mark the day, I chose to play with straws and light. (I do love Dubai tho - just so we're clear).
