Another Languedoc year...

Back in the vineyard

It's great to be home. We had a terrific holiday in the UK, and now it's lovely to get back to a routine.

Today was my turn to take the dogs to the vineyard. In our absence the house-sitters had loads of people to stay (a story for another day) and one of them left us these pretty prayer flags pinned to the beam of our mazet. I'm delighted with the sentiments of peace, love, abundance, laughter and acceptance shown on the flags.

The dogs are delighted to have us back and today they learnt to chase a ball around the orchard when I whacked it with a tennis racquet. Now that the new dog, Jonty, has gained confidence he's proving to be an enthusiastic chaser and retriever. My arm was falling off with stone-throwing, hence the tennis ball and raquet.

(A mazet is a small shelter in a vineyard, and ours was constructed by the previous owner from rocks he found on the land.)
