A childhood of long ago

These books take me back to the dark ages! How life has changed in many ways!

The Flower Fairies by Margaret Tarrant was a firm favourite with the magical illustrations of wild plants and their little folk. The other two belong to the Ladybird series. Some of them are much sought after and have risen in price as the pictures depict life in the 1950's in great detail as regards domestic objects around the home etc. That kitchen cupboard in the painting is identical to ours - shows how out of date our farmhouse kitchen is!
