Best Supporting Actress
Tonight was the High School Awards Evening. Daughter T received the Best Supporting Actress Award! This was for her role as Snow White in the production: "Snow White and the not so little Dwarfs". Another proud moment for her parents as we watch our daughter who started off being so shy in her Nursery School concerts become so confident and relaxed in front of an audience. All this despite have a skin condition called Vitiligo which has caused her such distress as she battles to hide the white patches from the world. Words can't express how I feel about her courage to face every day and her ability to keep on having big dreams about her future! You are going to be a big Star one day, my girl, I just know it!
The programme design for the ceremony was again mine and I included my son K as he had not won an award this year. If you look closely, he is the one in the middle of the tug of war!
The High School learners (my two eldest being part of the group) completed a week of teambuilding today! It was concluded with a huge parade. Such excitement as the 3 teams tried to upstage each other. First Maxwell House (green) was led in by their prefect riding a magnificent horse. Then Newton (red), the best house, was led in by son K and their prefect riding red quad bikes. Finally Darwin (blue) were led in inside a cute Jeep which one of the dad's drove.
Their spirit was incredible! These teenagers put their hearts behind their teams and created magnificent banners with crests painted by themselves. They designed the artwork, chose mottos and mascots and wrote warcries. Newton house chose the motto: Potentia Amoris - The Power of Love.
The 3 houses are named after scientists who were Cambridge University graduates as we are a Cambridge school. Today I realised that next year our High School learners are going to take the school to new heights!
My evening did not end on such a high note as I started developing a migraine in the afternoon. By the end of the evening I was really sick. The last few days were finally getting to me.
One day to go ......
