Tomorrowland

Too early to say much about Helsinki, I'll wait until I've seen the city in daylight, but I will say that I love the Christmas decorations in Scandinavia in general, Finnish is a weird language, and that Helsinki has a very good looking populace-only Bergen made a similar impression on me.

This is one of the window arrangements at Stockmann, a big department store in central Helsinki.

One lesson of today is that I should prepare just a bit better before heading somewhere else. You couldn't book online at the hostel I wanted to stay at, so I just winged it in downtown, found a bookshop, bought Lonely Planet (deliberately hadn't purchased it in Sweden because it's so absurdly expensive) and navigated from there. But it was more of an ordeal than it should've been, and I showed up at the visitor info booth 15 minutes after it closed, then found the metro service booth 10 minutes after that closed. I'll be better prepared next time. Thank goodness English makes for such an excellent crutch.
