That's Shallot
I'm celebrating tonight. Kind of. I received my car insurance renewal notice the other day and my current insurers want £766. "You what?" was my exact comment (actually that's a lie, I think I used the 'f' word). So I walked around for a few days in a haze of "oh bum I'm going to have to sell my car...". Tonight was the night that I decided to do the Insurance Shopping. I'd rather do Christmas shopping but hey ho. I looked at a few independents and they were all coming in at about £600. Better than £766 but still a bit painful. So I submitted to the meer cats. And boy did they come good! "Quote me happy" says one insurance company. I saw their quote and danced around the room. It's about £300-odd cheaper including any added extras. And let's face it, with my driving, I need added extras.
So that's celebration number 1.
Celebration number 2 isn't really a celebration really. More of a happy discovery. It turns out that I like pickled shallots. Pickled by my own fair hand I must add. Although it could just be that I'm hungry and I was too lazy to go out and buy anything that resembled a proper dinner. Main was bran flakes with raisins, dessert was shallots (two of my five a day in there I'm convinced...).
Celebration number 3, however, IS a celebration. For it is Friday! If that's not worth celebrating then I don't know what is!
