The Little Lyle Files

Shaveless

My trusty shaver appears to have died on me after five years of dedicated service. The question now is, do I get it repaired (it is really difficult to find someone who will repair such items in our disposable society), do I buy a new one or do I return to wet shaving?

Tough choices as the electric shaver is substantially more convenient than blades and, although I have not done the maths, I suspect cheaper as blades cost so much nowadays. The thing is that no matter what the marketing says, I have just never got as close a shave with an electric shaver as I have done with a blade.

That said, the electric shaver has never made me bleed and, as it cuts the bristle straight across, the stubble growing through does not have the sharp edges in the way that a blade does with its angled cut.

What a dilemma!!
