The Gautrain!

This site may be common in most parts of the world but to South Africans it's only been around for the last year and a bit, opening for the 2010 world cup football and let me tell you it has made a HUGE difference to our lives! And it's something we can be quite proud of.

Arrived at OR airport at 4h30 am and walked straight up the excalator, onto the train, 15 mins later sitting waiting for my lift outside the Sandton station, no sweat. Now that's something. What's still missing? Well we could say buses to get us home or taxis, but there again there were a stream of 'proper' taxis waiting to take you anywhere - at a price of course. So really all's well in SA. Admittedly the calbes do get stolen from time to time causing disruptions but then we're not perfect.
