For better or for wurst

A scrum of hungry Christmas shoppers 4 deep waits patiently for grilled Mettwurst, Krakauer or Thüringer Rostbratwurst sausages at one of the many food stalls at the Aachener Weihnachtsmarkt. Despite the lack of light in the picture, I liked the expressions on people's faces as they made their sausage transactions.

The Christmas market in Aachen lasts a month and ends on December 23rd. It's packed with locals and tourists no matter what the weather is doing. There were busloads of British tourists having the time of their lives shopping and eating. I chatted with a young man from Yorkshire who was full of the joys of glühwein and was queuing up for his 6th bratwurst of the afternoon. "I'm eating for England," he said.
