Hard Rock
Some fresh air and exercise was required, and nearby Glentress Forest (which has featured in these blips before) was the most convenient option. It was damned cold - one degree above freezing on the car thermometer - but plenty layers and walking quickly kept me warm.
As I rose gradually above the car park, the surrounding fields and paths had more snow on them, but no more than a sprinkling. The sky was overcast and the light diffuse and dull, so distant shots looked grey, but there was still intensity in the shades and tones of nearby features, including these rocks.
I have lost track of how many times I have walked round Glentress Forest over the past 12 or more years; its endless variety never ceases to amaze me.
