Most days, my commute in and out of our nation's wondrous Capitol is fraught with poor manners, bad smells, and the subtle stress of the perpetually hectic. Today, however, myself and literally hundreds like me were reminded just how much more convenient a (semi-)functional transit system makes our lives. Due to days of torrential downpour, the ballast under the train tracks washed away. White knight husband saved my evening, but as you can see from above, many others were stuck waiting for emergency buses...probably wishing for their own personal rockets.
