Longing and Belonging
When people ask me "Where are you from?" the answer is not a consistant and a quite difficult one.
In my passport it says German, but Vienna is my home, but then my parents and school-friends live in Germany, but my what I like to call "extended family" lives in Austria. If I add to that the feeling that parts of me also belong to India and the United States and England and Spain and so on it gets really confusing.
Home is, where the people you love are.
Identity is a flexible and ever changing concept. A new piece of home is Turkey for me now, especially Ankara.
By the way: The mosque you see on the picture is 2min away from my house...that means that I get the pleasure to listen to the Muezzin singing 5 times a day...well...less of a pleasure at 5 in the morning;-)
