tradition

this barn is the place that begins the christmas season in my mind. a small tree farm just outside of petoskey, where the whole family ventures each and every year. wandering the vast selection, with friendly banter - arguing which one is best. finally one of us getting down on our hands and knees, close to the earth, to saw down our final choice. timberrrrrr.

and its back to the barn with our tree, for a little shaking and (hopefully securely... though not always) tying it to the car. and of course for a little chat with the kindest old man who runs the show.
