A break in the weather

More packing but the BBC website tells me that there will be a break in the weather. So I time the washing machine to finish just when the sun comes out. Luckily it works.

Everything is tinged with "goodbye" now. Goodbye to the house I have lived in for 12 years. Goodbye to the garden - to that little bit of Yorkshire that is still, at the moment, mine. Goodbye to the physical reminder of the history I shared with Kate, my partner, who died 4 and a half years ago.

The sun came out whilst I was pegging out the wet clothes and it shone on this diseased plumb tree. And I thought "I will not be seeing this sun on this tree next year".
