Island Strife
The problem with our island climate is that it never really has settled weather. We are at the mercy of whatever blows in. So today we have slushy snow. It made the trip over to court a little more entertaining. Just after this stretch, over Otley Chevin, the road drops to a T-Junction. A poor soul didn't. Manage to stop and went through the oft repaired stone wall and into a field. No one injured fortunately.
This was my last day sitting at Bingley Courthouse. We had a morning of Domestic Violence sentencing (after reports prepared by probation) and a DV trial in the afternoon. As you'd expect most of the victims are women. What you might not appreciate are the number of retractions of statement after the couple have 'patched things up'. We also get lots of applications to vary the 'Not to Contact' conditions of bail. Go figure.
The journey home in the sleaty dark was just as entertaining as the journey there.
