Life on Sheep's Head

Apparently, even *tacky* can be pretty

An uneventful day. I planted the last few bulbs today and froze my toes off. Another VERY cold & windy day on the peninsula. Lots of bright spells, but lots of freezing showers as well. No snow or sleet yet, thank whoever!

Hubby did not go back to NL yesterday, because he wasn't feeling great. He's a lot better now.
I knew that, btw. He always miraculously feels a lot better, as soon as he knows his weekly plane left without him, bless!
He spent the day mucking out his studio, would you believe!?
Yup. Very very very sick! Oh, this was definitely a severe case of *man flu*.

(For your info: I forget, you blipsters don't know me yet. My hubby and I are from Holland. We moved to Ireland almost six year ago and *me, myself and I* live here full time. My hubby and better (no, best) half still commutes. He flies to Holland on Sunday afternoon and flies back home on Wednesday night.) We have the best of both worlds, really.

Anyway. After I got the bulbs in, I finally made a start at writing Christmas cards today. I usually love writing them, but this year, for some reason, I found it very hard to get inspired. I blame the laptop. Hubby makes our yearly Christmas card on the computer (it's become a bit of a tradition and he LOVES doing it) and it's soooo easy to just email them nowadays, it seems hardly worth the effort of all that writing. Takes me at least two days! How mad is that?
However... in my humble opinion, there is nothing like sending (or receiving) a personal, hand written card, even if it's only once a year. So... writing it is. Cramped up fingers 'n all. Ouch!! Oh Lordie... am I really turning into an older person? ;)

Today's pic is a surprisingly nice detail of a slightly tacky Christmas decoration. But then, like it or not... *tacky* is allowed at Christmas. Or so I'm told.
