Mother

This is an oil painting of my mother. My father painted it in 1949 and I think it was one of his best pieces. He did a number of paintings over the years including his 3 daughters. He also did a few sculptures and worked as an illustrator for a few magazines and later worked as an illustrator for the Simpson Sears catalog . When they changed to photographs he then did photo retouching for the catalog. He would have been 94 this month but both my parents have been gone now for over a quarter century. I like to think I got some of their artistic talent from them!
