My company had an event to report on its end of year performance, and it was sufficiently optimistic to allow a celebratory drink or two for the staff. I asked to cover this event to improve my indoor flash portrait technique. I don't think I've met a bunch of subjects who are so critical of how they look. So I had to wheel out my rusty art of gentle persuassion and other non-technical soft skills, in order to persuade them to be photographed.

I'm not entirely sure where the flash was pointed at when I took this girl's picture, but the exposure on her face seems acceptable.
