"and therefore never send to know
for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee."
~ John Donne
Nothing special tonight. Just a snapshot of the tree. More creative efforts later on...
For 14 years I've been quite happily minding my own business, keeping Christmas in my own time honoured fashion, but the first Christmas after I join blipland I start getting grief over the lack of a tree in my Crimbo life, lead by the Bridlington Three (RaceyTracy, Vic and wildthingsma)! Don't everyone else get comfy though. Names of the conspirators have been taken and come the reckoning, a price will have to be paid!
Hahahahahahahaha!!!
Well, after deciding to stick to my guns and not give in to peer pressure, I popped into B&Q tonight to have a look at Christmas trees! :- ))
What a 'mare! I guess I've been spoilt, with mum and dad always buying a real tree for Crimbo, but this was not an option for me. Looking round the artificial trees I soon discovered that unless I was willing to part with £40 or more (which I wasn't - sorry!) I wasn't going to get a green tree that looked anything other than strips of paper on wire branches. Soooooo I decided upon this nice black fibre optic one. It just seemed the perfect choice for me!
So armed with tree, decoration started pack and tinsel I headed home.
The box said to read the instructions inside before starting to put together the tree. I can see how it might cause confusion. I mean, there's a tree, 4 clip in supports and an electrical transformer. It even has pictures to show how to assemble. Retain the instructions for future use clinched it though!
Then came the baubles. Very nice, except... how do you attach them? Then the bundle of string fell out the box. WTF! I've got to fix the string too!
Grrrrrr... hahahahahaha, it's not even ordinary string. It's that stuff woven with metallic strips that gives it the flexibility of aluminium. Arrggghhhhh!!!
So here it is in all it's glory. It may get tweaked over the coming days but not a lot. So has it brought me closer to Christmas? Has it increased the spirit within me?
Has it bugg...!
Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Have a good Wednesday folks! :- )
