Boat House

The Boat house on Loch Leven.

There used to be 30 boats to rent out for fishing, but that has been cut drastically this year due to the near collapse of the fishing on the loch. The hatchery is closed and the loch is no longer artificially stocked with brown trout. The hope is that the streams that supply the loch will eventually produce a natural return of the native brown trout to fuel an increase in the fish stocks. Until then the boats lie mostly unused, even in their depleted number.

The other use for the boat house apart from the bistro, is the annual Beer Festival. I think it was great, but........ I can't really remember.

Today, after almost 2 hours at the gym and the pool, going straight to the loch with wet hair and trying to blip in the freezing wind............I was blipping cold.
