The Golden Tree, Crawley High Street

This is a strange name for a statue - I think The Golden Tree sounds more like a Chinese restaurant than a 13ft high statue of a bronze axe. The Crawley Borough website gives you some more info about this statue but frustratingly no explanation for its strange name.
