Dear Dicky,

What a great idea to settle on a service station as a meeting place for the first time, it was convenient for us both and there were all the facilities to hand that we could possibly need.

We could have visited WH Smith.
We could have stuffed our faces at Burger King.
We could have got high sniffing fuel or at least filled our cars.
We could have enjoyed a full English breakfast.
We could even have got a room......


However, thank you for treating me to a coffee, that was very generous of you.
"What not even a cookie or a slab of cake?" I thought when you finally made it back to the table.

I hope I didn't intimidate you. Are you always that quiet?

The thing is when I'm with someone who doesn't say much I guess I over compensate and either talk too much or ask too many questions. I probably did both today.

Still, the good thing about meeting on a motorway is that it affords a quick getaway!
