That'll do
My home away from home for the previous 5 days. This is a superconducting magnet at the Diamond Light Source synchrotron in Oxfordshire. X-rays enter the sample chamber at the centre of the magnet from the silver pipe the lower right. We measure tiny amounts of magnetic elements, Fe, Ni and Co, on metal surfaces. We also do not sleep much and watch QI on a projector in the room next door.
