Calorimetry Again

This is version 3. Version 1 would have been about the right size for a Mama Elephant.  Version 2 about the right size for her baby. Hopefully, this is the right size for Rachel who has a normal, human sized head.  

It's one of those things that you don't know what size it is until you've cast off, so I wasted a lot of time on the first two versions. I did a tension square (keeping things professional as I always do) but 2x2 Rib behaves differently in a long strip than it does in a little square. When I cast off the first one, it was touching the floor before I was half way through!  I'm cutting it a bit fine, knitting group is tomorrow, and I've still got to sew on a button. But I can't get to my button box, as it's in the cupboard in the office, and the new wooden floor was oiled today and I can't walk on it.....it's all very complicated. I'll have to sew the button on at breakfast. And hope that there's some wrapping paper in the office cupboard too. All the other women always wrap theirs so beautifully.  I'm tempted to do s Smithy from Gavin and Stacey and wrap my Christmas presents in tin foil. 

Went Christmas shopping with Jeremy today.  I haven't seen him much since the summer so it was great spend so much time with him.  He's coming to Betsy's carol concert and Al's school play. He's a good uncle.
