Godbless

Godbless is one of the children for which RUDEC provides financial support. As with most of the children and orphans supported by RUDEC, the extent of this monetary help depends on the donations and kindness of sponsors.

Godbless is a destitute child. This means that he still has one parent alive (his mother) but she struggles to look after him and to provide for him as she is mentally and physically disabled. The sickening thing is that dishonorable local men take advantage of her reduced faculties by finding ways to sleep with her. Consequently, the father of Godbless is unknown and missing. Equally, she has just fallen pregnant to another unknown man.

Godbless is an extremely quiet little boy. He doesn't speak much and rarely have I seen him smile. Until today.

A friend in the UK has just begun to sponsor Godbless. She has already sent a parcel full of goodies and another is on its way. Needless to say, there were smiles all round when Godbless and his friends received their gifts of t-shirts, sweets, footballs, alarm clocks and friendship bracelets. Furthermore, Joshua visited the market today to buy Godbless some new shoes. He will also soon get a school uniform so that he can look smart like his friends. All these things will make life a little more comfortable for Godbless.
