Danger in the middle

I took this photo early in the morning while waiting for the train to work. By lunchtime there were reports of a fire in the mountain near my house. When the wind would blow one way it would go towards my house, when another it would go towards a friend's house on the other side of the mountain.

Fortunately we were both at a long distance from the fire (just able to see it) and the fire department had it under control by early afternoon. Late evening while I was returning from work I could see red blinking lights from the fire vehicles on guard up on the mountain.

Not a good start for the Greek "fire season"!
