WIP
Some have expressed interest in seeing what the MBH looks like. So here's a bit of it. Specifically, this is the side of one of the kitchen windows, with green shutter. Mr B worked out today how much surface area of shutters and window frames we have today so we knew how paint we needed to buy. Scary numbers. I think shutter painting is going to be a long term goal...
As for the external walls, I rather like the distressed look, but I suppose that all has to be redone too. Sigh. I hope I'm allowed to start on the garden first...
Busy day today, but as I was waiting in for all kinds of folk, Mr B took on the bulk of the driving around. I meanwhile embarked on the kind of utility quest that I never want to do again. Having spent (really, literally) hours on the phone to France Telecom about how we could move house without having to do without the internet for 15 days, I spent another 90 minutes on the phone today about it. I have no idea if we have reached a solution, but it may be that the inevitable disruption will happen when we're not here.
After the frustration of dealing with that, the ERDF man who came to turn on the meter was a dream - helpful, prompt and quick. So we have electricity in our meter! But sadly it is not connected to our house... so another night all bundled up in the same room (though in a change of scene it is our room, not Katherine's) before the electrician comes tomorrow to do the final connection in our (sigh) temporary and still too small supply.
