MBH
Another bit of the MBH. I've been meaning to think up a new acronym now that instead of being a 'mad broken house' it is more of a 'still mad but less broken house'. I guess at some point I'll just call it 'home'. And that sounds good.
Another largely sunny day today, and warm enough that doors and windows could be open to let some warmth into unheated rooms. This door goes between what will be a dining room and what will be a terrace. One day... When I've had a chance to clear away all the dead and regrowing brambles and weeds as big as me, so that Mr B can get in to measure up for whatever wild scheme he comes up with for our outdoor dining experience. Creeping into the left of the shot is the shutter seen the other day from a shot looking out from the kitchen. As you can see: there is a lot still to do...
Today the boss electrician came round to look at the oven and confirmed that it's broken. So I was straight on the phone to the shop we bought it from who have a customer guarantee that promises 'an engineer at your home on the same day if you call before 10am'. Hmmm. Seems that calling at noon on a Friday gets you an engineer the following Thursday. I strongly encouraged the client service lady to do better, and she called back later with a Tuesday appointment. Still not great. I'm supposed to be baking shortbread for the school fair this Sunday. Sigh. I've been without an oven now for nearly three months. I didn't realise baking was an addiction until now.
As you might have guessed from my long (for me) absence from Blip, my positive attitude has taken a bit of punishment lately. But focussing on the positive shows me that the kids are doing fantastically at school and with learning French, a complete stranger complimented my French the other day, and we have a radiator in each bedroom. Pah, who needs lemon cake and buttery shortbread and gingerbread and proper chocolate cake.... (sob)
There are many backblips. They're not much fun and the photos are rubbish. (Have I sold them well?)
