Last Journey
Rosy was born in southern Spain around 14 years ago. The day we adopted her from the Motril rescue centre, we let her run free on the local Costa Del Sol beach. Big mistake, she ran for miles! She shared our home with our German Shepherd 'Toby', 'Hermi' (a GS cross), a small black dog called 'Biff' and fellow rescue Belgium Shepherd, 'Mori'. Along with her friends she adored her walks in the cool of the evening in the lower Alpujarras.
Almost six years ago Rosy, Hermi, Biff and Mori arrived in Argyll. Their environment was now very different from the parched lands of Spain, however they all enjoyed their new lifestyle with walks in the forests and dips in the lochs. In recent years sadly Hermi And Biff passed away.
Rosy's arthritis and heart condition progressively worsened over recent weeks. This photograph was taken on her last journey today across the Clyde to Gourock. She is now free from her pain.
For a Spanish street dog, Rosy had an amazing life. We and her adopted canine and feline family will never forget her.
Rest in peace Rosy, your spirit remains.
