Nesssaintee's World

By nesssaintee

Phew! It's Friday

After yesterdays "wind" it's a lot calmer here, at work there was sheeting blown off a Nissen hut, a tree in the field across from the cabin I work in was up rooted :-(
There were places outside of Inverness with no electricity
Snow was a distant memory, I say was, as it is back with a vengence and there is a fresh covering out there now.
Have seen the moon briefly, will probably try again to snap the moon in a bit.
It's really too cold for mooning tonight
So blipping a pic I took today of the Fyrish monument, which is funnily enough on the Fyrish hill which I can see from where I have been working this week, near Evanton in Ross-shire.
It was built in 1782 on the orders of Sir Hector Munro to make work for the locals, who were being cleared off their land to make way for sheep! (so the legend goes)
It represents the gate of Negapatum, a port in Madras, India which Sir Hector (then General Munro) took for the British in 1781
