Another wintery scene

We woke up to snow in Penicuik this morning - it was very pretty and although much of it has thawed during the day there is still some left.

I had a lovely walk to the High Pond where I was amused by some ducks walking over the ice, leaving webbed prints behind them - not very straight. They seemed to be going to join some other mallards who had been in a small patch of water in the middle of the pond when I arrived, but had moved on the the ice. There was a small channel of water which the advancing ducks found and followed as far as they could, looking much more at home in the water than on the ice.

However, this photo of a sheep, searching for some food, against the blue wintery sky appealed more to me than the photos of the ducks!
