Big Weather!

The Ilkley Cycling Club Christmas Party was a great success. At the beginning of this year there was no such organisation. An idea was thrown into the air and a few people turned up at a little meeting in a pub to commit support to the club's foundation. Fortunately I was late and by the time I had arrived all the jobs had been dished out to eager volunteers. Much down to the energy and passion of a few wonderful and enthusiastic individuals, engendered by the power of modern social networking - particularly Facebook of course - the club is already thriving, almost beyond comprehension, with over 600 members!

I've just been out on the moor for a run and managed to miss the showers yet again. The weather you can see approaching here has now enveloped the town and it's thoroughly, cold, wet and miserable. Blipping and straight out the door for another ICC event - a trip to the Manchester Velodrome. Roam and I have been before, but it will be Forrest's first time. Riding a bike at 30mph plus on a banked track with no brakes it's just a little scary until you get used to the idea. I can't wait to see how he gets on!
