Shades of Gray

Hard to believe it's December in New England when one sees this on the forsythia bush. The Sparrow couple looked pleased with the weather, as we all are considering the savings on our heating bills. That said, it is all very strange and unnerving to have the warmth this late in December.

Nelson has been very busy this morning digging small holes planting peanut treasures under the leaves. He proudly wears the damp soil on his nose and mouth. Can he possibly remember these nut caches?
