inside the Peace Bridge

A stunning warm winter day here in Calgary with bright blue skies, sunshine and a pleasant 6C to boot.

Quietly a couple of weeks ago the previously blipped bridge was wheeled out, lifted and dropped into place across the Bow.

I have been intrigued by its construction over the last couple of years. For a pedestrian only bridge it is expensive at $25M, but I think it is a very interesting even beautiful architectural piece (..and goodness Calgary certainly needs that).

Today would have been a perfect day to take a picture of the completed bridge, but it is still surrounded by supporting structures and cranes. When they are removed I will blip the whole bridge but meanwhile here is an image from its inside.
