The back of my mind

On With the Show!

Been to the panto this afternoon. It was great. Slapstick, rude jokes for the grown-ups, minor celebrities, ad-libbing, dodgy special effects, un-politically correct Chinese accents, singing, dancing and glittery costumes. What more could you ask for?

It was just a shame that the theatre was only half full. We sat in the front row of the circle and only our row was taken up, with all the seats behind being empty.

We really enjoyed orselves though. It was Aladdin and the actor playing Widow Twanky was brilliant. But the undoubted star of the show was Bernie Clifton as Wishy Washy (pictured centre-stage). He must be getting on a bit, but he carried the performance really. And yes, he did make an appearance on the ostrich!
