H.M. Coastguard Rescue Service

While en route to Lerwick today, we got visitors. The H.M. Coastguard Rescue helicopter pilot asked us if he could use our aft deck for some practicing. His frogman was lowered on a winch to our aft deck. We continued full ahead in the meanwhile. First he lowered his frogman just above the water to let his line make contact with the water and to get rid of any static electricity. After his line was neutralized he lowered his frogman a couple of times on our deck. Forget about the movie heroes like Rambo and James Bond. These guys are the real heroes, they don't know any fear. Even in hurricane force winds and mountainous seas they will come down and board your vessel to pick up any victims. If you're in the water, they will drop their frogman beside you.
