Wheelchairs in Florida

We flew from Florida back home today (via Atlanta). As we arrived at our gate at the Fort Myers airport, we were struck by this lineup of wheelchairs, presumably ready for passengers on the arriving flight. We knew that Florida is a haven for retirees, but this put it in a quite specific perspective.
