We've found Rudolf...
Angela and I went to see a play called Rudolf at The Arches in Glasgow. It was billed as a Christmas panto and we filed into the theatre with about a hundred children and settled down to let the festivities begin.
It turned out to be a 2 man play about 2 friends who couldn't afford anything at Christmas. They told their hen, Esmerelda, a story about Rudolf in the hopes she would lay them an egg so they could eat on Christmas day.
I think it went over the children's heads a bit. There was a particularly disturbing part where a reindeer foetus was projected onto one bloke's stomach and he then gave birth to the other one, but the kids didn't seem to mind. It was rather silly and they got everyone dancing at the end.
On the way into the performance, the corridors were lit up in pink and we saw the sign 'Rudolf this way'. They lied. He was nowhere to be seen! :)
