Grootkloof, Magaliesburg, Gauteng

Went kloofing in the Magaliesburg with the Johannesburg Hiking Club today. I didn't take my camera as there have been attacks of late so just used my old Samsun cell phone, so pic isn't too great but it's really beautiful in the gorge. It was overcast to start with and you spend most of the time wading through water so it was a bit cold, in fact freezing, but the sun came out towards lunch time and warmed us up a bit. It's quite a tough form of hiking, using ropes and getting pulled up by able bodies men but always lots of fun. Came across one snake making the most of the sun, not sure what he was. By the time we got out of the kloof the sun was out which made life a little more pleasant. Enjoyed it as always. Highly recommended for those who enjoy the mountains.
