Out of Control
My daughter told me about a house in Argentine, Mi. that she said was "unbelievable." We loaded into our merry red van/sleigh in pursuit of said house. We found it.
We arrived just a wee bit early. The elves had not yet turned on the lights. We waited in a State of Michigan lake access site. Darkness came.
They had so many blow-ups that they had an enter and an exit driveway. Some with motion, some totally lit up, and some with music. There was Tigger, Chilly Willy, Marmaduke, Frosty, and Rudolph. I had my picture taken with the Grinch...and no...I did not smile.
We counted 71 blow-up "things" in all, although we probably missed a couple. We'll call it 73. Next time we tell the story...it will probably grow to 78, and then 83, and so on.
Cars were pulling through with kids with their mouths open. Everyone loved the scene...but who is its biggest fan? Consumers Power Company...that's who. "Keep those lights and motors running... guys...we love your Christmas spirit!!!" Cookies and hot cider would have topped it off. No such luck.
In the midst of the struggles with my mother-in-law was my other daughters birthday. Grandma died on her birthday. She said it was her worst birthday ever. We told her it was a great day because Grandmas suffering was over. We didn't have to see her hurt any more.
We celebrated at a local steakhouse tonight. Happy Birthday to my baby and my second favorite nurse...Julie Anne. Love you.
