Allan Breck Stewart, David Balfour and a lamp.

The two principal characters from Stevenson's Kidnapped are remembered in this 2004 sculpture by Sandy Stoddart. I don't remember the role of the lamp in the story but it was probably something to do with that dastardly evil Uncle Ebeneezer.

The statue overlooks Corstorphine Road, which was the likely route the two lads followed when they returned to Edinburgh to claim Davie's rightful inheritance.

I've spent a lot of time today pushing furniture around in preparation for the Christmas Tree. Twelve days starts tomorrow.
