Study in light
My life can seem a bit boring, if only because I spend most of it in my study. (All that will be tremendously different in the next few months while I'll be in New York for research.) But when fall turns into winter, as now, the light changes, and I develop new habits, techniques to follow it through the house. Around 3pm, the sun hits the back of the apartment, making it to my desk, one room down. And in the bathroom. I remember once, on my very first trip abroad: aside from the marvelous discoveries I made while in France, there was this moment in a rather dingy bathroom when, as I finished my shower, I was hit by the sun, warmed and dried by it. I promised myself that one day, I would have a bathroom that would allow this on a daily basis. I'm not there yet. But in December, it's pretty close!
