Prototype ?

Was this the inspiration for the modern day Christmas Tree Bauble? The bauble was first produced in Germany around 1847. Prior to this apples, popcorn and candy were used to adorn the Christmas tree. Don't know whats going on here two Christmas based blip from Me ! it must be my age ! but I have seen these fruits several times lately and each time thought " baubles".
